As expected Google have finally released their brand new flagship devices — the Nexus 6 and Nexus 9.
Nexus 6
Starting off with the Nexus 6 you’ll notice that it matches up with all the leaks we previously saw, especially the Moto X 2014 design. Google chose Motorola to manufacture the Nexus 6 and it seems as if they’ve done an excellent job in both the design and specification departments.
The Nexus 6 features a huge 5.9″ 1440 x 2560 (493 ppi) display and is powered by quadcore 2.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor — along with an Adreno 420 graphics chip.
Nexus devices have never really stood out in the camera department, so it’s refreshing to see a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with optical image stabilisation, and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera too. It’ll be interesting to see how it performs against other flagship cameras!
A huge improvement was also made to the battery which is now 3220 mAh and is able to charge in just 15 minutes, providing up to 6 hours of use. Google states that from previous testing the Nexus 6 battery is capable of lasting 24 hours when fully charged.
If you thought it couldn’t get any better, than you will love the fact that the Nexus 6 will have dual front facing speakers too.

Moving on to the second device that was released today, the HTC-manufactured Nexus 9 boasts an 8.9″ IPS LCD display which has a resolution of 2048×1536. It’s powered by Nvidia’s flagship 64-bit K1 processor which has a clock speed of 2.3 GHz, as well as a Kepler GPU.
If you thought the Nexus 6’s battery is impressive, then you’ll soon be mind blown by the Nexus 9’s massive 6700 mAh capacity. You’ll also get an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, as well as a 1.6-megapixel front-facing camera.
[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yYHY3MFiq1o]The Nexus 9 will be available for pre-order on October 17th and will come in three different variants – 16GB for $399, 32GB for $479 and the LTE 32GB model for $599. There will also be three different colours to chose from, these are Indigo black, Lunar white and Sand.
You will have to wait a while longer to pick up the Nexus 6 as it has a pre-order date of October 29th. So far we know that pricing for the 6 will start off at $649 for the 32GB model, which suggests that the 64GB model will not be cheap. It will be available in two colours — Midnight blue and Cloud white.
Both devices will of course ship with Android’s brand new version of the operating system, Android 5.0 Lollipop.
