Over the time period of owning a Moto 360 I’ve encountered a really annoying issue: the display turns off too quickly.
For most people it’ll probably be enough time, especially when all you want to do is read a notification or check the time, but it’s totally different when you want to demonstrate a feature on camera.
There’s no way to solve this issue through the default settings for the Moto 360, however I’ve stumbled across an app which allows you to change the display timeout. It’s called StayLit Wear and costs £1.05 on the Play store.
When you’ve bought and installed the app, it takes around 45 seconds for it to be displayed on the start menu on your Moto 360, and once it does appear, open it.
From here you’re able to change the longer display timeout to a time that suits you. It starts with the off mode which will deactivate the StayLit app, and then goes from 5 seconds all the way up to 5 minutes with a number of different time intervals in between. You are also able to set it to indefinitely which will let you keep the Moto 360 display on until you turn it off.
When using the app you may notice a decrease in the battery life, so you’re definitely going to want to be conscious about the timeout setting you choose.
