Last week the guys over at OTONE — a British audio company — took a different approach to product launches. Rather than inviting everybody to a single location to announce the launch of their new speaker, the Blufiniti, they picked us up one-by-one in a Hummer Limo instead and took us for a spin!
Meeting the management team behind OTONE.
It was a nice, personal way to get to know the management and learn more about the company. Now that I’ve had a few days to play around with the Blufiniti speaker, here are my first impressions.
First Impressions
Priced at £49.99, the Blufiniti is supposed to hit the sweet spot between good quality build and sound, while being affordable.
You won’t find any fancy/premium materials on this speaker, but it does have a very nice curvaceous design and surprisingly solid build quality with dense plastic which feels like it can take a beating. I’m particularly liking the fact that you can either lie it flat using the rubber feet on the bottom, or stand it up vertically thanks to the rubberised edges on either side of the speaker.

Although I’ve used the Blufiniti via Bluetooth since getting my hands on it, it also packs NFC for you Android users and comes with the usual AUX input at the back for wired connectivity.
I’ve been using the speaker for casual listening in my bedroom — so nothing too intense just yet — but it has handled most genres comfortably with well-rounded sound.
I’ll be using the Blufiniti more over the next few weeks so watch out for the full review, but for now let’s say that I’m quite impressed.
