The Good: Minimal design, good protection and lightweight.

The Bottom Line: Incipio’s Lexington is a recommended buy for someone who’d like a minimalistic but protective case.
Incipio’s Lexington case for iPad Mini combines a few of the the things I look for in an iPad case: a slim and lightweight build, adjustable positions and solid protection for the device.
Having spent the last few months with it as my iPad Mini’s main case, here’s what I think of it:
Design & Build Quality
The back of Incipio’s Lexington case is made of soft-touch plastic.
The most noticeable thing about the Lexington case — at least for me — is the well constructed rear shell that protects the iPad itself. Incipio have made it out of a soft-touch plastic that feels nice to hold in the hand, and it provides a nice amount of grip on surfaces as an added bonus too. The shell feels quite dense and strong — more than capable of taking a knock to the back — but it manages to maintain a light weight at the same time.
Beyond that, what’s made me like this case so much is the fact that it gets out of the way. My iPad just snaps in from the left and right sides, and because the shell is soft-touch plastic, I’m never worried about scratching the device when taking it in and out. (That’s always a plus.)

Thanks to the Lexington’s snap-on design rather than a framed one (something common with many folio cases), my iPad’s gorgeous display and bezels are in full view. It almost feels like I’m using my iPad without a case on it, and I love that.
Move over to the front of the case and you’ve got a faux leather front cover. It doesn’t exactly feel premium, but it has definitely been durable over the last few months of use with hardly any signs of wear.
Incipio’s Lexington comes in a single colour — regardless of which one you choose — which makes for a simpler, neater design. The one I’ve got here is grey, but there’s also black, blue and red.
Adjustable Positions

Adjustable viewing angles are a given for iPad cases nowadays, and the Lexington brings all the usual ones to the table. Using the small strap attached to the case’s front cover (which latches to the back of the case), you can place you iPad in an upright viewing angle and two different typing positions, one steeper than the other. The strap and latch can also be used to keep the case firmly shut, too.

The case feels nice and sturdy in all positions and I’ve been able to type this article comfortably on my lap throughout train journeys and at home. It doesn’t have sleep/wake functionality which is a shame, but the case is so good otherwise that it’s something I can overlook.
Incipio Lexington: The Verdict
All in all, for $34.99 the Lexington is a good buy. It’ll give you a simple looking design, all the functionality you’ll need, and plenty of protection to keep your iPad safe. What more do you want?
