2 things to know before you buy the Jet Black iPhone 7

After Apple announced the beautiful new iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, I went around my house asking which new colour my family preferred and Jet Black was everyone’s top pick. (If it matters, I’m a sucker for that new matte black! 😍)

Now if you’re sold on the Jet Black iPhone 7, you may want to hold out or reconsider.

First off, there’s no ‘lower tier’ 32GB version, meaning you’ll need to fork out £700 to buy the 128GB model or £800 for 256GB. Ouch!

Secondly, according to their fine print at the bottom of the iPhone 7 product pages, Apple state that “The high-gloss finish of the jet black iPhone 7 is achieved through a precision nine-step anodisation and polishing process. Its surface is equally as hard as other anodised Apple products; however, its high shine may show fine micro-abrasions with use. If you are concerned about this, we suggest you use one of the many cases available to protect your iPhone.”

Basically that means your shiny new Jet Black iPhone 7 will be extra prone to scratching and because of its shiny surface, it’ll be a fingerprint magnet too.

I feel so much better about preferring the matte black finish now…
